The Rest of the Weekend Update

Sunday was an easy day as usual. Michael slept late, because he went to bed at 5 am, for why, who knows. When we all were up and ready, we made our Sunday trip to Starbucks where they were out of the Sunday paper :*( BOO! But we got our treats, and I went next door to Ulta for new mascara and a new nail polish color. (its a neat robins egg blue! see pic above)
Then we went to look at the fish etc at Petsmart (because its fun and the girls love animals.)
While the girls napped, I went with Sarah and Helen to run some errands. I picked up some things to help Josie learn her letter. I chose lower case magnetic letters (she loves playing with magnets on the fridge while I am cooking, so between the letters and the colors, we will work on learning them little by little) I also got some colored feathers to glue on stuff for crafts, and since Josie likes to paint, they had packs of bingo stampers of different colors, and a book that will allow her to stamp her letters and numbers, also some tissue paper squares in different colors to make rainbows etc with. I cant wait!
I got our weeks of groceries as well as we were out. When we got home, I rushed to put it all away, because Michelle was on her way to pick up Avery. I wanted avery to be able to decorate her pumpkin before she left. We were able to do that with the girls, and we got some family pics, and played in the front yard for a bit hahaha.
I have to say how grateful I am of our family's situation. Michael and Michelle have a very happy cordial relationship, all of us do. Therefore, we are all able to come together with no issues at all for Avery when there are birthdays or recitals etc. Its wonderful and we are all so lucky. I made black bean enchiladas, which are so easy, but I was stupid and put too much garlic, and since I dont have a food processor, i used a blender for the ingredients, and I think that the onion and the garlic in the blender woke their flavors up TOO MUCH. I couldn't finish dinner thats how garlic-ie it was. EWW. Needless to say, I wont be doing that again. Its too bad too, Michael had been really awesome at telling me how much better my cooking has gotten. lol. It happens though.

Weekend Fun Pt 1

This weekend was super awesome. Friday I picked up Avery in the afternoon, she and Josie each had snacks, Josie had Goldfish, and Avery had been given a popcorn ball as her treat at daycare. They elected to trade, which as long as they worked it out and were happy, then I was happy haha.
Josie with her popcorn ball.
I decided that it was perfect timing going to the park, it was afternoon and the weather was so nice, and we had time to kill anyhow before Daddy got home. We went to Stevenson Park. The girls ran around for a while on the playground stuff, and all was well until some super rowdy boys that were older came, they were screaming and throwing things and Josie acted a little freaked out by it all (Avery is much more use to being around rowdy crazy kids, so she thought nothing of it.) So i decided to see if the girls would like to go "exploring," which they did, so we walked around the park on the trail. We looked for squirrels and fallen leaves, and pine cones and rocks, and areas that were flooded from the storm early Thursday morning. We got to where the pool was, and a High School swim team must use the pool, because there were a bunch of kids swimming laps. Josie was pretty upset seeing them in the water, she really really wanted to go swimming too. Poor kiddo. It wasn't too chilly, but the breeze was cool enough that a light sweater definitely was more comfortable. The girls ran around the big gazebo for a while and then we finished up walking the trail and ended back up at the car. We made it home, and the girls played, we had dinner, the girls got their first bath together in the new bathtub upstairs! Then, kind of last min, I decided that I would go see Law Abiding Citizen with my person and her husband. I was happy to get out of the house and hang out. The movie was pretty good, I have a big celebrity crush on Gerard Butler anyhow, so that made the movie better, in my opinion.
Saturday we woke up and watched a little TV while waking up. Had our beverages of choice, coffee for the adults and chocolate milk for the kiddos. Then we had oatmeal for breakfast. After we ate we decided to get ready for the day. It took a while for Michael and I to get showered and ready and to get the girls in their cute halloween outfits (not their costumes.) Michael wanted more coffee and wanted to get a new book to read, and so we packed up and when Aunt Sarah got here, we left for Barnes and Noble (they have a Starbucks connected to them.) We hung out there for quite a while, when the Rosendahl's joined us we headed out to the pumpkin patch! We took some pictures, and bought some pumpkins!

On our way home, we grabbed some quick lunch, and the girls finally got to take their naps round 2:30. I laid down with Josie. She has been terrified of the smoke detector in her room ever since it beeped in the middle of the night apparently needing a new battery SHEESH! Then I cut the front yard. When the girls woke up, Damien was just getting dropped off, and I laid down two huge blankets on the yard for us all to lounge on for a little bit. Damien walked with me as I pulled the girls in their wagon around the block. We played with a ball in the yard, and when Kerry arrived a little later, we sat on the blankets and had some coffee and talked and Michael felt adventurous and washed his car! Josie and Avery decided to help and when Kerry and Damien left, we quickly gave my car a fast scrub down too. Then we came in, the girls got into dry clothes and I threw together a late dinner, pasta shells with zucchini and broccoli in a garlic butter E.V.O.O. sauce. I served it with fresh crumbled mozzarella cheese and pesto, and fresh sliced tomatoes for those who wanted it. It was a build your own pasta bowl dinner. Micahel gave me a pretty amazing compliment. He said that my cooking has gotten a lot better, that I am a lot better at making good food and throwing together some amazing dishes with no recipe, just things that we have. I thanked him and said that was a really nice compliment and I am happy to hear that! We finished the night off with watching Winnie the Pooh. The girls never ask to watch this movie, but they love it. Its too cute.

My Person's Birthday!

Yesterday was Amanda's Birthday, she and her family had joined us on Sunday for Michael's birthday dinner, but it was kindof a pre-birthday thing for her too since her birthday is the day after his, so that is when she got her presents from our family. Yesterday she got all sorts of surprises at work, and I was asked to join her family at Olive Garden for dinner. (Dear God that food was AMAZING and I probably ate myself silly, but considering that its a super rarity that I eat there, I will allow for it haha)
Anyhow here are the videos from yesterday evening.

Weekend Fun

This weekend was fun and filled with just the right amount of busy, if you ask me. Friday was the beginning of how things started. The weather has given us a break and has been super nice, so instead of going to the park on Friday afternoon, I drove Josie down to Galveston. We picked up Michael and went to the beach with our blankets and bag of sand toys. It was super windy as you can see in the videos, it was totally worth it though!

Saturday we woke up early. The contractors were going to be here for the last day to finish up our upstairs bathroom!
Bathroom before
Midway
THEN...
And FINALLY!!!!!

We now have a beautiful tub and shower combo! Not to mention that stinky gross carpet in the bathroom has been transformed into lovely tile! WOOHOO Josie celebrated with a bath :) and of course I am a ding dong and didn't take any pictures of it. :( sorry, but I did take pics of the Bathroom renovation process :)

While they were working on the bathroom, and we were stuck at home, I set up tables out in the driveway, and had michael help me drag out the several tubs of items that I had set aside and priced ready for a garage sale. We made enough to totally make it worth the sunburn that I got on my neck and shoulders lol. When Josie woke up from her nap,
Sarah and Josie and Michael and I went out for lunch. Michael had something like a Gyro but not... the rest of us ate at Chipotle MMM! After lunch we had to go to Marshals to exchange a pair of boots that Sarah had bought for Josie to wear this winter. We got a bigger size and I also found the cutest diaper bag (no I didn't buy it, it was $40 and I couldn't justify getting it when we already have diaper bags that I can use, but this is what it looks like...)

Saturday night was quiet and we went to bed kindof early.
Sunday we woke up, had coffee, went to Starbucks to get the Sunday paper, and Josie likes to go visit the fish at Petsmart, so thats what we did. Then we came home and Josie took her nap, I worked on the downstairs half bath a little more, while making the Lemon pound cake for Michael's birthday today. I wasnt sure how it was going to turn out, since our oven doesn't bake things well. So we went to the store, where I got things to make an appetizer, and we got a carrot cake from Target (they are amazing!)
Sarah and Andrew, Helen, Julie, and the Rosendahls Joined us for dinner. Helen and Julie made steaks, I tried out a new recipe of coconut shrimp, Sarah helped Helen make the mashed potatoes, and Amanda made some of the most amazing green beans wrapped in bacon that I have ever eaten. OMG they were DEVINE TO THE MAX!!! This is some of the fun that Josie and her best friend Laine had.
Josie with a cupcake!
All in all a wonderful weekend.

Side note, today marks week 26! This is the last week of my 6th month of pregnancy, as well as the last week of my second trimester! Time is a flying!

AHH!! WOOHOO

Yesterday we did the, just wear panties and see what happens. I started yesterday because mid morning she peed in her diaper then wanted to use the potty, so I took her lead, and said, "Lets try using the big girl potty thing again." She did not make it in the potty once, but she sure noticed when she peed! So today, when we came downstairs to get chocolate milk and breakfast, she saw her Vroom Vroom underwear, and was pretty excited about them! (Thats a big plus if you ask me, because maybe she will be more successful in only using the potty because she won't want to potty in her favorite undies????) So we were off to a shaky start, she wanted to wear the underwear, but I told her that the only way she could wear them was to give sitting on the potty a good try. She had the patience this time, the potty chair was in the living room, next to the coffee table, and she had some toys (a teenage mutant ninja turtle, and one of the good guy rabbit dudes who is a samurai according to daddy) and I went to go put some dry cereal in a bowl for her while she waited to potty, and I heard music practically!!!! I heard that awesome noise that told me that she DID IT! OH just imagine the singing and clapping and YAY YOU's!!!! that were thrown about, there were high fives and pictures and video. see!?!?!

I know that there will be lots more accidents, but every little accomplishment is a celebration here :)
My biggest wish was just to be able to get her to want to sit on the potty regularly, and I am combining that
with her wearing panties, so that she really knows when she goes potty, and it helps me know when
she goes potty. :) Accidents will happen, and she will still be wearing her diapers at night or maybe pull
ups again depending on what seems best at the time. :) Im not stressing that she be potty trained
before Nicolette is born. I want her to be ready when she is ready. We seem to be on the right schedule
and we are doing alright so far! :) Yesterday we were 0 for 4... or so, and today we have 1 for 3... thats
a huge step in the right direction if you ask me!
Mommy is super proud of you Josie! Keep up the great work!

Some of Josie's Favorite Stuffed Animals

Bolt! From her Aunt Sarah, because she knew how much Josie loved the movie.
RUFF RUFF, is what she calls this one apparently. He is adorable and came with a little wooden dog house, and was a gift from GIGI, Kelly's mom, for Christmas last year. She LOVES HIM.
These are her favorite cars. They are of course from the movie. I can crack Josie up by making Lightning say KA-CHOW! :)
And according to Josie, this is the booboo back pack, the NOWNOW boo boo backpack to be specific. ( our cats say now more than they say meow in our opinion lol.) It gets us through our owies.
This use to be Michael's Pooh bear. She tries to sing the Winnie the Pooh song to him :)
The little monkey was from Rick and Kelly last Christmas, The big monkey Michael had bought for me when we were dating, before I moved to Texas.

I know, there is a monkey on her back.
