The Rest of May Days

So, Mothers Day came and went, I have photographic proof that Michael was not the first one up, and did not let me (the mom) sleep in on Mothers Day, heh heh heh. We went to run a couple errands while the girls napped and Grammy was home studying for finals, and then we went to Michael's dad's house for lunch and to hang out. It was a super hot day, and we had set up the pool for the girls. They had a great time in it!

During one of the showings of our house, Josie and I took Michael to the new park we found. He had been there before, but not since they redid all of the playground equipment. Even he thought it was pretty cool! (May 13, 2009)

That Morning Josie and I had played with play doh :)

On May 17th 2009 we went to Damien's 10th birthday party. It was at the park next to their house, and it was a water balloon/ water gun party HAHA  Erik, Amanda, and Laine came too! It was a great idea that Kerry and David had to orger pizza and set up the tent, it almost rained, but turned out to be a great day and a great party!
Silly pics of Josie and I

And finally, Memorial Day came. To me growing up, Memorial day was always the first sign that summer was here, public pools were open that day. This memorial day, it was 96 degrees out. Michael and Josie and I wanted to get out of the house, but it was so dang hot, so what would you have done? We went and got Snowcones! WOO HOO! Josie's very first. We decided to get her started with a blue raspberry one, and it made her tongue all blue! My favorite is wedding cake with cream, and michael got tangerine. We had a pretty common Memorial day dinner. Corn on the cob, baked beans, and chicken sausage. :) All in all it was a great lazy day.

May 6, we found a new park!

Having the house on the market means that sometimes we get kicked out of the house, so why not improvise and discover new places (which I don't do as often as I should) So we went to a new park that I recently found out where it was... Challenger 7 Memorial Park. My likes of the park are that, as you can see, its covered. Houston gets HOT not only is the weather HOT but it scorches the plastic on all playground equipment, so  coverage is NECESSARY.
She had fun exploring and running around, checking things out, playing with little pebbles (which are some of her favorite things... rocks and dirt)

She went across this little "bridge" all by herself, knew just what to do, and how to do it safely. Things that make a mother proud :)

Some parents freak out when their 21 month old is doing things like this... SHE COULD FALL!! right? I wasn't worried. I was right there, and I could see her assessing the situation, and she knew it was a little too advanced for her, so she didn't do any further. :)

Hmmmm... what else can I do here?

OHHH a hole! I mean a window! OHHH I can drop pebbles out of it!

It was fun!
(Note to self, pebbles HURT when they get in your flip flop. WEAR SHOES, not flip flops)

Pele's Visit to the Vet

Pele was due for his shots, so we took him to the vet. The waiting wasn't all that long, it was ok for the first couple minutes...

The new noises that she heard from the lobby was neat for a couple minutes...

Then it was apparent that she was done... there is always a warning moment that she has, if you pay attention... its the moments where you and her realize that there is not enough stimuli in this new environment and she is going to get rascally if A. something interactive doesn't happen soon or B. you finish up already so we can get out of this BORING place that she isn't allowed to freely explore. This was pretty much at that point... LOL

Later that day, she had fun with Mommy's scarf. Of course the really cute pic, I didn't get to take because as soon as she saw me grab the camera she took off running and took the scarf off of her head... it was placed perrfectly... she looked like a little flapper girl. So this pic will have to suffice. :)

I even tried to put it back on her to recreate the cuteness...

Of course, this is what it turned out to look like... .WAH WAHH
In short, she is a big girl now, who knows what she wants, when she wants it, and nobody can do anything about it :)
